I current have an Officejet 8600 Pro printer and it worked flawlessly when wirelessly connected over the past few months until yesterday, when it suddenly could not be connected my desktop. (Note: My wife's laptop still prints on it without a problem). I will dive into the support information to try to return it to it's former, working state via the wireless, but I wondered if this printer can be connected both wired (to the desktop) AND wirelessly (to the laptop) at the same time? If so, how is that dual connection method performed? Thanks.

Hello @BobA2 , and thanks for contacting HP Forums!
I see you're looking into connectivity options. I would like to help.
You can absolutely have a wireless and a USB connection. Its a matter of setting up the wireless and connecting to the printer, and plugging the USB into the other computer and adding the print via USB.
I would love to try and help you further, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. With this information we can provide you with accurate information.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please let me know. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

Hi Bob, and thanks for getting back to me!
For the wireless printer, I would recommend installing the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver. When it asks about connection types, select wireless.
As for the USB connected computer, follow the same steps, except when prompted to select connection type, choose USB and connect the cable when prompted.
Please keep me posted!
