Hi! I just purchased the HP PhotoSmart 7525 and have been able to set it up wirelessly to print from a PC and Mac. I've also enabled the Web Services. What I cannot do is connect to it from a browser using it's IP address from chrome or internet explorer.
I've used automatic and manual IP configuration on the printer and restarted it a number of times. Any guidance on what I'm missing?

Hi there clovehitch, I hope you are well!
I saw your post about how you are unable to reach the EWS from your web browsers. I would suggest running the Print and Scan Doctor from your PC to see is this helps correct the issue. If the tool detects an issue it cannot correct, please let me know the details.
Have a great day

I ran the Print and Scan doctor. It claimed I did not have the HP software installed on my system (although I had the drivers). I installed the required software and reran the scan. It found no problems. However, I stil lhave an issue connecting to the EWS on the printer. Thoughts?

Hi clovehitch,
I am looking to clarify some information.
When you ran the Print and Scan Dr. did it not or did it find your printer on the network? If the tool found the printer, the IP address should have been displayed and this is the IP you would type into a web brower to connect to the EWS. I am confused as to why the Print and Scan Dr. would find the printer on the network however, not connect to the EWS.
The printer would also need to be found on the network in order for the full installation to complete successfully.
If you see an error, could you take a screen shot and show me or write me back with the details?
Thank you:)

The print and scan do for did find the printer and did a test print and a scan successfully. So we know the IP is good. However when I connect to the EWS I get a blank page back. No error. When I view source in the browser it gives me an empty page too. No text. I've used chrome, IE, and Safari.
The IP address I use is picked up from the screen on the printer. 10.0.0.20.

Thanks for getting back to me!
Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer.
Afterwards, try connecting to the EWS again.
I hope that works!

Hi CloveHitch,
The symtoms that you are describing seems to be caused by a home group setting that blocks the data transfer to and from the printer. What OS are you using?
If on windows 7:
1. Start > Control Panel
2. Click Network and Sharing center
3. Take note of your Active network. Is it Home? Public? or Office?
4. Afterwards, click on "Chnage advance sharing settings" on the left side.
5. Expand the tree for your connection profile and Turn on Network Discovery and Turn on File and Printer sharing. As a practice I do this on all connection profiles regardless of what I am connected to. This of course may seem inadequate if you want to maintain network security in a public network.
6. click save changes
That should fix the EWS and scanning problem. If not, please post a screenshot of the error message so I can take a look at it.
