HP Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I cannot connect my HP Officejet Pro 8600 to my new modem.  I have tried all the troubleshooting tips, have used the wireless connection on the printer itself.  No result.  I have found the IP address for the printer which is 192.168.1.31.

The following are listed for the modem: IPv4 192.168.04; Ipv4 Default 192.168.0.1.  Not sure what all that means, but there it is.  I have unplugged, waited and plugged in again.  No luck.  Wireless network name and wireless password show up as the same.

I must tell you that I am on the upper side of 70 yrs, so please be kind. (ha)..

Thank you for any assistance that you might give.  I really need to be able to print from my computer,

Hi,

Looks like your printer is not connected to your router. Normally your printer must have IP 192.168.0.x (x can be from 2 to 254) which is on the same range with your router IP, which is 192.168.0.1

Please try

I may have mistyped the printer address: 192.168.0.2.  I have tried using the printer Wireless Setup Wizard, no luck.

I do receive this: IP no link; Network name: not applicable.

Also have received at some point in troubleshooting: Problem with wireless adapter of access point.

Thank you for your help.

I followed your advice and received the following message: Unsuccessful communicating with your selected product.

Follow the steps below and try to resolve the problem.

I turned off the power to both the modem and the printer, powered back on, no luck.

What next?

I am still working with my wireless connection problem to my HP Officejet Pro 8600.  I have tried all the troubleshooting steps and even uninstalled and re-installed the HP disk.

I also called my local provider and they checked the modem, made some changes, no luck.  Still will not recognize the WPA pass word on the printer.  Everything else is working TV, phones, internet.  So, the problem must be with my printer.

Is there anyone who can help?

I tried the video.  Have tried it previously.  I receive the following message: Invalid wireless (WPA) password entered.

This is the password that shows up in my documentation.  Also, is the password that was used by the local provider.

Why isn't my printer accepting this password? What else can I try?

Thanks for trying to help me.
