Hey @MarthaContreras,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're experiencing paper feed and quality issues when using the automatic document feeder on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn. I would like to work with you today with resolving this issue.

It does sound like this issue is a roller defect within your automatic document feeder assembly. This can cause issues when feeding paper, detecting paper, and quality issues. Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

Step 1: Check Power:

Ensure that your printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet for power. Power strips and surge protectors can cause printers to lack power and not perform properly. To ensure that power is not the issue, please plug your printer directly into a wall outlet and test the copy feature.

Step 2: Check ADF for Jams:

Any packaging, paper or debris that is stuck in your automatic document feeder can cause multiple feed issues with the adf assembly on your printer. To ensure that this is not the case can I have you click here and run through the steps provided to ensure that no debris is stuck in the adf rollers.

If the adf is clear of debris, please proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Check Paper:

Ensure that you are copying, faxing, or scanning plain white paper. Make sure that the paper is not wrinkled or damaged in any way. Load neatly stacked paper in the automatic document feeder. Also, ensure that paper guides are adjusted and that the adf lid is closed tight.

The printer will normally make a 'ding' noise or display 'original loaded' or 'document loaded' on the front display of your printer to show that the paper sensor in the adf is detecting paper as loaded. If no 'ding' or 'document loaded' message appears, pull out your paper slightly and push it back into the adf assembly to see if you can trigger the adf sensor to detect paper loaded.

Once the paper is detected, please test the copy function to see if the paper pulls in evenly and prints a perfect copy. If the issue persist, please continue on.

Step 4: Check Firmware:

A programming failure or corruption on your printer can cause the hardware on your printer not to function properly. To make sure that you are running the latest programming Firmware Version on your printer please click on the following link:  HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127/M128 Series Firmware Update

Once the website opens, select the Download button on the top left hand corner. Once the Firmware download completes allow the tool to run. Follow the onscreen prompts to send the Firmware Update to your printer.

Once the update is complete, please test the copy function again.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck! Smiley Happy

I followed your instructions step by step and just by opening and closing the ADF cover the problem was solved. Thanks!
