Hi,

My HP LaserJet 1022n  has a static IPaddress  in  the same  subnet  as  my smartphone (Android 11)  and  iPa  (iOS 12.5.4) wi-fi.

The printer has firmware 20120928 installed, the  most  recently  available  version.

The phone's ‘Samsung Print Service’ does not   find  the printer,   even  after entering its IPaddress. The ‘HP Print Service’  detects  the printer  correctly,with the  correct  name  and  IPaddress,but  the next step fails with  the  following  error message: “the printer software does not support the selected printer. Check for updates at your devices’s app maker or your printer manufacturer.”

The iPad is unable to detect the printer as well.

On PCs running Windows 10, the printer works perfectly (wired connection).

How can  I  solve these  issues?

HP Recommended

That printer model is too old to support printing from smart devices. The app can recognize the device but will not print.
