I am trying to install a HP LaserJet P2035 on a Windows 7 32bit computer and it is stuck at "Installing:  Device is connected, waiting for PnP to finish installing driver".  It has been there for a couple of hours.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

hi,

can you tell me a little bit more...is your printer installed as local or on a network?

Thanks,

It is installed as a local printer.  Thanks.

LynnMcGuire,

When you are installing this printer:

1. Are you using a USB cable that is shorter than 5 ft?

2. Have you tried turning off your firewall?

3. When you started installing this printer, did you plug the USB cable in when instructed, or did you install this printer in another way?

4. As the installer was running and after you plug in the USB cable, did you get a pop up in the lower right hand window that said windows was installing your device software (can't remember the exact wording here but it is something like that)?

 5. Check your printers and devices folder and see if the printer has been installed there and is showing anything (a green check mark or solid black). If so, then try right clicking on it and going to printer properties and click on print test page. If a test page prints, then it is okay to click out of all the install screens.

Will watch this thread and see what you post back,

Good luck!
