The date & time shown on the Control Panel Display is not correct. It shows the date & time the printer was installed and never changes. I have tried resetting this information without success. Whay is it shown (what is it for) and how can it be changed?

Hi! @LionJohn, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand the printer control panel is displaying incorrect date and time.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Please try the steps recommended below to change the date and time settings on your printer.

With the printer powered on, use your finger to scroll to the left on the touchscreen (like a cell phone) and you will see Setup
Touch Setup to access the Setup menu
Next, touch Preferences
Under Preferences, you will now see Date & Time
Touch Date to change the date on your printer
Touch Time to change the time on your printer.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Thanks MrRobot,

I had done everything you suggested prior to submitting my question to the Forum. When I selected my Preferences today it had the correct time and date that I had inseted before. However, when I return to the panel display the time has not changed - its still the date and time when I installed the printer.

With the correct date and time inserted in the Prefenences window do I just return to the control panel display or does something need to be done to active the new data inserted in in Preferences?

@LionJohn, Thanks for your quick response and time.

I appreciate your efforts in trying out the steps.

As you mentioned even after trying the steps the issue still persists.

Try performing a semi full reset on your printer and check if it helps.

Since the steps to perform semi full reset is confidential, I will send you the steps in a private message watch your inbox.

I'll watch your reply.

Cheers! 🙂

Thanks MrRobot,

I didn't need to use the Reset information you provided. I decided to shut down/start up the printer and the time and date information is now correct and updating. Guess all I have to do after inserting the correct time and date was do a restart.

Thanks for your attention to my question.
