The scanner worked well until recently.  The copier and printer functions work well, however, the scanner has started to braeak images into 7+- sections instead of just one. What to do? Thanks!

Hi espritman,

I completely understand. When you change the type to pictures, did you also change the crop to? What you can do is, change the the 'type' to picture, the 'crop to' to the appropriate paper size or non, and then save these settings as a preset. To save a preset, click on the drop down next to Presets, choose Save As and create the new preset.

I hope this helps. 🙂

Hi espritman,

I would like to help you scan full images rather then having the printer detect separate items. What program are you scanning from and from what operating system?

There is a setting I suspect needs to be modified, if you can find crop and change it to non, or to letter, that would probably fix it. I know some programs on some operating systems have an option to select 'detect separate items', we may need to find that to remove the check mark.

I hope this helps, if you can not find the settings post back with the details I have requested and I will help instruct you to make the necessary changes, thanks.

Thank you, Sunshyn.

The OS on my MacBook Pro is 10.9.2

The hp scan version is 4.0.50 (115)

I found 'Crop' under 'Edit' but it is muted.

Thank you for your support.

Hi espritman,

Thanks for describing your results, I have taken a look and know what you mean, the crop to is grayed out and you can not change the setting. If you change the Type from Automatic to pictures or Documents you will then have the ability to change the Crop setting.

Let me know if that works out, I will gladly return if it does not. 🙂

Thank you again, Sunshyne, for your support.

The Type was already set on 'Picture' rather than 'Automatic'.  This produces a breakup of the document. Whe I change 'Type' to 'Document', the breakup does no toccur.  The scan produces a complete image.  As long as I keep the Scan app open, it works  well.  When I close the app and reopen, it defaults to 'Picture' and continues to break up the document.
