Designjet T770

I have a Designjet T770 with a 59.2 error.

The HP website only post drivers.

I need a current firmware download link to flash the drive.

Thanks in advance.

I do not know if firmware will help you. This error code appears when a used part has been used from another plotter. I assume this is what has been done. Many parts used in the plotter write to other parts so there is backup information on the plotter if one or more parts go bad. When you install a previously used part that has information from another plotter it confuses the printer and rejects it. Only unused new parts should be used so parts that write to it are able to do so. I have seen instances where using a used part has caused a plotter to be unfixable since the model of the plotter was changed on the main board and could not be changed back.

Thank you for the link and explaination.

If a used part is causing a config mismatch, what two parts is the the config trying to match up with?

Main PCA Board (I assume but maybe Formatter Board) attempting to match the back up written on what other board?

If I understand you correctly, the config file is written similar too the 500\800 series did. Hence, a type mismatch will throw up a 59.2 error.

Lets put it this way. What part(s) did you replace?

Original error 08:11.

Replace the Main PCA Board.

08:11 continued.

Replaced Formatter Board.

Now 59.2 error.

The 08:11 refers to the formatter so by changing the main pca you now have confusion. I do not know where this model saves the backup info since it does not have a print mech board. It could be on the formatter or the main pca since both parts are the same among all the models of this plotter. Have you tried to put back the old main pca since that has the orginal information and maybe will work with the replacement formatter even if used. If you can get into the diagnostics menu there is a section where you can get model and serial number information which may help you. Below is further info I found that may help you. The lights on the formatter really tell you what is wrong. I would put both original parts back in the plotter and go by the chart below.

Troubleshooting 08:11 system error

The following describes the troubleshooting procedure for when there is no communication between the printer and Front Panel and the system error 08:11 is displayed.

Remote diagnostic procedures for the call agent

Prompt the customer to perform the steps in the following order, only move onto the next step when you are sure the issue with the printer persists:

  1. Ask the customer to power off the printer and wait 1 min and power on.

  2. Ask customer to reseat the printer’s formatter (do this by loosening the formatter screws, disconnect and reconnect the formatter, and tighten the screws again.)

  3. Ask customer to report the status of the formatter LEDs. Depending on the condition, a service onsite visit will be needed with the following parts depending on the LEDs combination:
