Deskjet 3630
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I just installed a new Deskjet 3630 printer. There are no problems printing. However the copy buttons do not work. When I press the Start Copy Color button, the control panel counter will change to 1 and then the Power button will start blinking. Nothing else happens. The printer will not copy. The same result happens if if I try the Copy Black button. I cannot figure out what is wrong.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the HP Support Forums. I understand you are having an issue with making a copy. I will be glad to help you.

Make sure the power is into the wall, not a power bar or surge protector.

Here is a general document for copying.

If you open the lid to the glass and press copy black does the light con on?

I have a 3630 with the same problem.  Owned it 2 months tomorrow.

Scanner function working.  When I try to copy (with the cover up) light does come on and arm moves.  Printing fails and gives me an error message ("failed to print").

Thanks.
