I just bought a 3050 and cannot get it to connect wireless to my macbook.

The installation either freezes up or it tells me i need to connect directly to the printer...and when I do, it still says it's not connected.

I successfully connected it wireless to my dell desktop though.

I'm running OS 10.5.8 and have a WEP network

Do you have a 3050 or a 3050A?

WEP is not in the least secure and can lead to connection problems like this.  Please consider changing to WPA or WPA2 on your router.

Do you have a computer? If so, what operating system? Do you have a wireless router?  What kind?

Hello there,

We have Hp 3050 611a Series printer..I am having Windows XP SP3 and also Mac machine..both are able to connect via USB cable normally and print.

Now in the setup of wireless I have issue as the printer have option WPS, Push button and PIN methods..Now the router im having is Aztech 605EW model which is having wireless security of WEP, WPA and WPA2.

So how can I connect  the printer to my router..I dont have the CD with the printer, This printer is having only WPS setup and the PIN is given when setup....I dont have the option in my router to enter this PIN number as the router doesnt not support WPS method I guess 😞

I working on this since 3days and really getting upset, as cant connect the printer wireless to Router.

Any ideas my friend in order to solve this wireless connection issue ?

thanks in advance,

Shree

Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.  Install the software but make sure the USB cable is NOT connected!  Choose Networks or WIreless installtion type when it asks.

The issue is adding the printer to my router..well I downloaded the software and followed the instructions...Does the printer support WPA and WEP...As I have seen only WPS setup option on the printer.

Yes, the printer supports WEP and WPA encryption types.  Do not use WEP, it is not secure.

WPS is a totally different thing - it is a method of automatically connecting your printer to your router, but your router must also support WPS (usually with a pushbutton).
