Bob
Can the driver to use on Windows 7 64 bit system for a HP 722C be downloaded from some place. It shows up on the list as a HP Deskjet 720C but I am trying to find the .inf file so that I can load it manually.

This will depend on how your system is set up, generally it will be c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3. You can copy and paste the above into the Explorer address bad and it will expand into the proper directory.

I'm having a nightmare with this!
I've managed to download the patch and create the temp folder, however when I type:
DIR *.dll
the following appears:
Directorio de C\Users\Richard
No se encuentra el archivo
C\Users\Richard>
(that says "file not found", in case your don't understand Spanish)
What am I doing wrong?

For anyone that may be hesitant. This worked great.
Don't worry if the file already exists in the directory. Replacing it with the patch version worked for me for my 720C.
Don't forget to follow the directions and check the .dll properties and unblock first.
Thank you for this fix!

It's confounding to me why this is working for others, yet not for me. I am running a relatively clean install of 64-bit Windows 7 SP-1, and I am running an HP 722C off of a Lava PCI Parallel Port adapter card. The card is recognized and up-to-date drivers installed. Device Manager shows card is functioning normally and no errors...
I then install the HP 722C drivers from Windows Update, go to CMD.EXE in administrator mode, stop the spooler, copy the hpvdb720.dll file over to the ...\x64\3 directory, restart the spooler and then... bust. I try to print a test page (or anything), and Windows shows the print job returning an error indicating 'out of paper,' but there is no activity at the printer (ie. it doesn't try to pick up paper, as it used to), and there is no flashing 'out of paper' indicator light sparking up on the printer...
Pretty desperate here... I can't really afford to invest in a new printer right now, so I really need this to work! Any thoughts anybody? Thanks in advance...

While the instructions are pretty good it is worth noting that these files already exist and so you have to overwrite the existing files. It takes a bit of confidence for 'novice' users to do this.
Thanks
