Deskjet F2430
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Deskjet F2430 will not print. I try and print , it will take the sheet of paper ( just regular white printing paper) about half way through, stops and the attention light blinks. If I shut the power button off and back on the paper will finish feeding through the rollers, but the attention light continues to blink.  I followed the troubleshooting guide.

1 - I have tried replacing both cartriges ( both are HP)

2 - Checked for any paper large or small and do not see any.

3 - I have shut the printer off and checked that the carriage freely moved left and right easily.

4 - Reloaded the drivers for the printer from the HP.

5 - The printer ques up when you turn it on. The print job shows that it's waiting

Any help would be grately apprecaited

The issue endded up being hardware as far as I could tell. I could not be without a printer any longer so I purchased a new Cannon printer. We will see if it last longer then the last 3 HP's that I have had.

Hi @2dancers4me,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I'm curious if this is more an issue with the hardware or the software.

Can you print the self-test report mentioned at the top of this A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Deskjet F2400 All-in-One Printer Series document without issue. If it also has issues, it's most likely a hardware issue, and the only other suggestion I have is to make sure the printer is plugged directly to a wall outlet to ensure full power is being delivered.

If the test report prints without an issue, the issue may be more related to the connection or software. In this case please try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and let me know if it fails on anything.

Hope to hear back from you soon 🙂
