None of the tips above work.

I printer remotely on a regular basis, often times more than 8 hours between print jobs, so the printer is off.

REally need the ability to keep the printer on at all time, at least in "sleep'" mode.

hello,

the only Work around ive for to this is to Run a continous Ping on the IP address for the printer ( xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx -t ) in cmd, that keeps the port awake hence keeps the Printer awake ......the Display screen on the printer still shuts off after a while but the printer still remains awake. apart from this trick there is no other way so far.

This is a HUGE problem for my users, too.    PLEASE HP.  FIX THIS ISSUE!     I have 9 of these units deployed throughout our company offices.

I recently bought an M281 Color Laser Jet, and I experienced this crappy situation, as well.  I also tried to find something through the web interface to wake up the printer from Sleep Mode, but no luck, and I also found no way to disable the Sleep Mode.  This is amazing, that I have to go over to the printer and hit the Power Button to get it out of Sleep Mode to print something!

Thanks for your message about this issue!  But, it seems that no one at HP is listening.
