HP Photosmart 5520
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

All was fine until I tried to print from Word. Then printing stopped mid page and all is flashing on the printer - arrows, red X, start button, etc. and display screen has an oval with a vertical line. Below it "C4EBA341".

Would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks.

@Sharlee,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out.

I understand that all the lights are flashing with the error code "C4EBA341" on your HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One Printer.

Don't worry as I have a few steps that should help fix this issue.

This issue could occur if the printer is in error state.

And here's the step by step guide to reset the printer:

1.Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2.Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5.Wait at least 60 seconds.
6.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
7.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8.Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
9.Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the issue persists, then please follow this link to update the firmware: Firmware Update

Let me know how that works.

I hope you have a good day ahead.

In response to my troubled printer. This is very weird. It was off for 2-3 days. I just turned it on and there were no flashing lights. I tried to print, but no text appeared. Checked the ink level, and the black is low. I'll replace it, but the flashing lights thing never happened before when an ink cartridge was low. Tried to print in red, but still nothing on the paper. Good news is that it's going thru the print cycle. I know I have one of those printers that can refuse to print if a cartridge is low. Maybe that's what's going on.

I've saved your instructions; it will probably happen again!  Thanks so much for responding. Means a lot.

Hey@Sharlee,

Thanks for the response.

I am the Resolv_S. It looks like you were interacting with @Rainbow23, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.

You can try installing the exhausted cartridge and check if that solves the printing issue on the printer. I will be eagerly waiting for your reply.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reply for more.
