Hello
I'm having the same problems too. I use OfficeJet Pro 8500, Windows XP, upside down when I use landscape as well as portrait in Word docs. Bought the HP for its eco credentials and duplex facility so will be disappointed if cannot continue to use the printer in this way.

You should look for a "Finishing" tab in the driver. There should be options for "flip on long edge" or "flip on short edge". In other printer models the selection may be found in the "Features" tab where a "flip pages up" box may be checked or unchecked.
Note the setting will need to change if you are printing in portrait vs. landscape mode.

I greatly appreciate your response, but I had already tried working with flip pages up (the feature available on my driver). Actually, I have just given up and manually turn the pages, printing one side at a time. Frustrating but... it was more frustrating to troubleshoot and have nothing work.
Thanks so much for your note.

It would help to know what operating system you are using, which Officejet 8500 model you have, whether you are printing in portrait or landscape and what program you are printing from.
I have seen some reports that indicate that some Adobe products may print the back side upside down (perhaps to try to correct for the previous HP driver bug...). Also, if you are printing in landscape mode you will need to change the flip pages up setting. I would suggest changing the setting and see if this corrects the issue, if not please provide more details of your setup as in the questions above.

Did you try changing the "flip pages up" option?
