My printer and my computer are not playing nice.  Every time I want to print something, I press print then have to turn the printer off and them on again for it to print what I wanted printed.  putting in the 192.168.1.106 thing got me no where.

what is up with this?

I have the officejet 6000 e609n.  Want to set up eprint.  I have the printer software installed and connect to an XP PC via usb.   For the life of me I cannot find where to do the pocess of "setup>web services".   From the windows menu>hp I can start the solution center.  I cannot find the control panel that is referenced in documents.

Most of hp website help sucks. You have to be an it geek to figure out what they are talking about. I am trying to setup web services on my hp office jet pro 8500 A. It ask for a proxy address and I don't know where to find it. Somewhere in this process they ask for a classification code which I don't know where to go to find that. Do you try to access this stuff thru the computer to which the printer is attached. Mine is wireless.

My printer model is different from yours, um... after you connect your PC via USB to the printer, have you make sure both the PC and printer are under the same wireless network? I meant well... printer's wireless icon light is on and flashing.

Hi!

@Clarkbar

Welcome back to the forums. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems activating your web services and you are getting an error message.

To resolve this error message please set a static ip address and manual DNS servers for your printer. I have included a link to another post on the forums with screen shots on how to do this.  Even though the steps discuss an Officejet 8600 and Safari the steps are the same for your Officejet 8500a and any supported browser.

Thank you being a member of the HP Support Community. I’m unsure what you are referring to when asking about a classification code.  Since this thread is about web services do you mean the claim code?

The claim code can be found by activating the web services on your HP printer if you printer supports the ePrint feature. I have included a general document on how to get your printer claim code.

i have purchased a new HP Laserjet 1213nf Mfp which has a eprint option, but i am unable to enable its web services for eprinting. My printer is connected successfully to a LAN Network  an i have also obtained the IP address for the printer but when i put that IP address in URL, browser can never open the web page, hence i cant enable my web services. I have also updated my firmware but still i am having the same issue.

Kindly help me with above.

Hi,

Recently my HP 5520aio broke. In fact the button on the touchscreen was jammed and I had to send the printer back.

I received another replacing model. I just installed the printer and now when I want to enable the HP eprint, I deleted the old one on the eprint website. Deleting the webservice on the printer wasn't possible because of the jammed button.

Now as I deleted the old printer, I thought that I could take the same emailadres.

How it this possible, the printeradress is fixed for about 6 months? Do I have to manually check every ...-time if the mailadress is back availble. I find it strange that it isn't possible to transfer the mailadress if is is the same user.

Or can something be done to fix this. I had a nice mailadress without any numbers and really don't like using:

firstname.lastename1@hpeprint.com

I just want to limit all my mails adresses to the same beginning.

Thanks for the help!
