Had the same problem; Seems to be fixed by reinstalling the firmware. Just download this from HP:
Device Recovery Tool for resetting the device from an unresponsive state caused by wireless network firmware update.
I did it from my Mac wirelessly - the printer was cycling on and off so I had to wait for the app to catcth the printer on and then installed it.

You guys should give it a try, don't wait for it to disappear, I was waiting for 2nights for it to go away.
- Hold the off button
- Pull the power plug out (while holding the off button)
- Pop the power plug straight back in (while still holding that off button)
- Then turn it back on 😄
That should get you out of that infinite loop and back to the main menu 🙂
I know most people will turn off the auto update or won't update the printer, but I did and it updated fine the second time round.
I wouldn't update usually cause I really don't care unless it's really important thus leading me to my next question, I know this isn't the thread for this but you guys seem really helpful 😄 the only reason I updated to begin with was because my apps don't work? Like it'll say "TouchSmart Web app is not working. Please try again later" so I read up on it and someone said to update it, I think it was one of the HP guys. Did anyone have any issues which they could help me out with?
Thanks!

okay i solved it ! after doing all what you guys wrote here. nothing helped...
except for the
Device Recovery Tool for resetting the device from an unresponsive state caused by wireless network firmware update.
which i found out requires a mac, which makes no sense, so if you have a PC i dont have the solution.
if you have a mac:
install the driver, run it and follow the instructions.
if it says that the device is busy: press power botton on printer and turn it off and then on again, and then run the hp firmware thing (the downloaded)
then try erasing all printers in "print & scan" and then add the printer again.
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/Printer-busy-but-it-s-not/td-p/1536293)
do the instructions all over, and it might takes some time but just keep trying until it says that it is updated
