They have done nothing for a couple months with this problem and have continued to send out updates, screwing new owners. And they have given no consideration to those who have problems with new printers for even a week
What a great company.

Which proves that at least someone from HP is reading the posts and they are aware.
I thought this printer was so cool for a small space in a Mac home until the update.
Go figure. If they actually gave me one de novo, and I could shut off the updates before they started: I would praise this printer.
But that is not what happened
Not ready for prime time.

HP
You struck the guys comments from Purdue. Nice, but most of us read them that have been done this road--on a beautiful printer that worked great until some hp "update"/
You have a great product for the Envy. It worked great for me for one week until the update.
A number of us have had that experience, yet everytime we call it is a revelation to you all!! I wish we could BILL you for those hours
I really did sell all my HP stock after this experience.
Get real.. Many of us just want a printer that well----- PRINTS. I don't want to play games or print useless crap to add to my cartridge bill. I have a G85 that has been a faithful warrior until you did not support the latest mac os.
Get real.

Well I got my replacement Envy today after a week of "updating" and the unit looks to be a refurb. So I spend $$$ on a NEW printer and I get a used peice of garbage in exchange. This all started after the so called customer experience rep told me that HP does not care if I ever buy another one of there products. The exact word he use were " HP makes more than 30% of the parts in most major brand printer. You will be back"
Well, guess what, I WON'T...
I will be doing my research on Lexmark, Brother, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Sharp, Xerox to find which do not use ANY hp components. I think I will also send a message to my fellow Purdue Alum, John Edwardson, CEO of CDW, to get his take on this level of customer service.
Thanks,
HP

Us Northwestern guys knew YOU would be back.
Yup, great printer for certain offices if it had support. \ but there is none.
I think now they will ban the whole big ten.
I dumped my HP stock after personally experiencing this whole deal.

I've got this same problem with my Envy 100. Unfortunately I'm outside the 30-day return window from Micro Center (bought it December 30th) so I'm stuck fumbling around with these stupid reset sequences that don't seem to do anything, etc. Unlike other people's experiences, it's not just the touchscreen that's the problem, I can't actually print either.
I did seem to make a little progress somehow - the "do not power down" screen used to be flashing a couple times every second, now it's just steady-on. If you call that progress.

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you.:smileymad:. 2 week old printer trashed by the update.
on the 16th of Feb, HP said a referb would ship on the 22 for delivery on the 23, Today it changed to the 4th of March, Support basicly said, suck it up, we cant give you what we dont have, yet the HP online store is still selling the,
We all need to wrire reviews were we bought them, as well as here on the HP site, and any other place that takes hardware reviews.
Others dont need to suffer like we are.
Make a point to let people kow that the pritners and HP support are not worth the money

I have the same problem with my envy - was actually given to me by HP themselves at a managers roadshow event. used it about 100 pages and update problem started. contacted hp and they informed me that there is no such machine registered so could not help me. i sell HP products every day, but will start selling brother, toshiba, and other brands if this is the way hp is going to treat not only me, but thier entire customer base and beleive me I sell a lot of their products.
