even though I had earlier deleted the files, the error has now returned, and usually when I click to open the toolbox from the windows tray..

WE GET THE TOOLBOX FX ERROR , WE TRIED DELEATING THE FILES  IN THE SETTING , HOWEVER THE ERROR APPEARS  EVEN AFTER RESTARTING THE SYSTEMS .  PL LET ME KNOW THE REASON AND FURTHER ACTION

Hello, Did you follow my advices in undeleting the software completely from your PC before attempting to delete the files in the folder? Also, I would advice you after deleting the software to run the scrub.exe program that are located in the installation folder of the software for your printer. It should be located in the folder c:/CM_2320_Full_Solution_Win7_3_1_XXXXXXXXXX/util/ccc/scrub.exe. Run the scrub.exe as an administrator (right click on the file and run as administrator). This program runs just few seconds and are cleaning up the files installed by the installation program. After running scrub, check the hidden folder of C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\ToolboxFX\Settings. If there still are files in this folder, delete them manually.

Whis this is done, restart your PC and run Ccleaner.exe (you can download the latest version by googling on Internet). First clean your pc for temporary files using this program and after clean your registry for errors using the same program. When this is done, restart the pc once more. Now you can try to install the printer software again - remember to turn firewall off and also any antivirusprogram. Be sure that you printer are proberly connected to your local network or directly to your pc with a usb cable.

 

Now you can install your printersoftware again. I have seen the problem with the toolbox several times if the PC does not have contact with the printer at the moment when the PC are restarting.

 

After installation, remember to switch on your firewall and antivirus program again.

 

Another remarks: If you are running windows8 the only version of printer software that will run proberly for HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP are this printer software version: CM_2320_Full_Solution_Win7_3_1_AM-EMEA1.exe. For windows 7, you should use this version: CM_2320_Full_Solution_Win7_3_1_EMEA2.exe (remember to choose either 32 or 64 bit version according to your OS platform).

HP LaserJet M1522nf running Windows 7 32 bit.  The "HP ToolboxFX" program will not load when I click on the icon.  The printer will print and the scanner will scan but the fax program will not work.  When I was loading the HP software it did give me a service error under the "Computer Management" "Services and Application" "Services" "HP LaseJet Services" and will not start.  "Windows could not start the HP LaserJet Service on Local Computer.  Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."  Also the HP Update program "HP Update Software Utility fails.

Affable J (and everyone else) this fix does work on the M2727.  I was thrilled to have mine working again; however, once there's been a crash, it is not possible to scan from the device -- you can only do it from the dialogue box.  Even though you can send the destinations to the printer, and they show up, you cannot scan directly from the device.  Any thoughts on this?
