Thanks for the information.
I got the printer connected to my router and can now use it. I haven't a clue as to what I may have done (if anything) to disable the wireless in the first place. I purchased the printer brand new on June 5th and was in the process of setting it up when this occurred. I probably spent six hours downloading updated printer software, print drivers and combing through various HP and Apple user group postings trying to find a solution. Not very happy with Apple or HP right now, but glad the problem is solved.
With respect to the printed documentation that came in the box with the printer, I suggest saving the paper. Not the worst instructions I've seen, but not helpful in the least.
Sorry to rant, I do appreciate your timely and helpful response.
