Hey,

If the printer has had wireless communication disabled, then the fix is often performing a factory reset of the device.  These steps cannot be publicly posted and the reason for the private messages.  For information about factory resets and reasoning behind please take a look at Bob_Headrick's thread found here.

@ Nerds2YOu and robb10 -

I will send the information for the reset of the device to you in a private message.  Please check your inbox here in the HP Consumer Support Forums.

Let me know if this helps,

Jason

Thanks Jason, but it still won't work right. I did discover that if I turn off all the security it will connect. But leaving the system open is not a safe thing to do.

Thanks for the reply and update to your issue, robb10.

Now this is a different issue than the previous one.  What security protocol are/were you running on your home network?

I would advise using WPA2 - AES for network encryption.  The 4620 is compatible with this type and should work.

Hope to hear back from you and hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Jason

I have tried every type wep, wpa, wpa2.  It will not connect on any of them. The only whey it will connect is if I turn off all security'

Have you tried performing a factory reset to the router itself?  It is possible that the router is having an issue with communicating with the printer while in an encryption mode.

As well, have you checked to make sure there aren't any firmware updates for the router available?

I would like to look into the router setup you are using as well.  What model router are you using?

I have reset the router 8 times full reset to default. The router is 3 days old. It a D-lINK DSL2750b. There are no updates that I am aware of. It is supplied by Verizon The firm ware is VZ_1.32, from the label on the router.

That is a wireless gateway which are notoriously terrible for wireless connectivity.  Suggest you have your ISP put that in 'bridge' mode and you purchase your own high quality router that you have full control over.

THANK YOU!!!
