Due to what appeared to be a mechical problem, none of the solutions worked towards fixing my error code.  I have since returned the printer to the retailer where it was purchased.  In the spirit of appreciating HP's products, I have since bought the same exact model.  I believe in HP products and think that one error code/glitch will not deter me from sticking with HP products.

Thank you for your help in trying to solve the problem throuhg downloads and other good advice, but in this case it was time to send it back to let the techs figure out the problem.

Hello Wesson46,

I suggest that you try the document that I have provided and if you are still having issues, then contact HP Total Care with the contact information that is on the thread as well.

Hi ,

my printer is fairly new. I just decided to write and ask if there is a HP warranty covering a free replacement since I noticed this "error" is common in other users.

( I did folow already the instructions for troubleshooting mentioned in HP's forum and "error" still there).

Printer's serial number is [Moderator edited Serial Number], bought in Walmart and did work EXCELLENT - no ticket on hand -.

HP Team, I'll be glad to be contacted and get a free printer replacement. I would use the same box to return the inoperative printer back for further analysis (root cause analysis) and prevent this issue from happening again to the universal users.

In case a free replacement is not an option, I just will trash it and no more questions asked.

Thanks

I had this same issue with the error code. I also contacted HP tech, after 30 minutes of training to reset the printer no luck. They however offered me a new printer for a good low price, but I needed a printer tonight so I went to the local store and purchased another HP printer with a 2 year extended warranty. I also could not get my ink cartridges out of the error printer so I forced the ink out breaking the lid to the color ink cartridge. This caused the ink cartridges to move on that silver bar. I plugged in the printer then the printer screen error code went away and it said on the printer screen that it could only single print because the color ink cartridge could not be read (because I broke it) I printed a document from the printer and scanned everything worked. So now I'm going to give this printer to a family member. It still prints only in black but it's still in great condition. Hope this helps. 😉
