Photosmart 7520 e All in One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to update the firmware and software on the HP Website.

All I get is an unspecified Error message.

I have restarted updated Windows 10 and it does not offer any other help

Hey there! @reacherv, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you are getting Unspecified Error on your printer.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Please connect the printer to your computer via USB cable, and then re-run the firmware update.

Also, Reset the printer to clear any hardware issues or error states.
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
   NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Let me know if this works!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Thanks for  your reply but I have done all that more than once and it still gives me the "Unspecified Error" message that isn't resolvable.

Any other ideas?

@reacherv, It's great to hear from you again, I was indeed waiting for your response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

Please try the steps recommended below.

1. On the print server open regedit and delete the following registry key

     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers\PRINTERNAME\CopyFiles

2. Install the relative printer on the 64bit client as an administrator

Also, Try reseating the ink cartridges on your printer and check if it helps.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers! 🙂
