Jamieson - your response doesn't answer the question asked of you!  Please read the question!!  We printed out the network configuration report, and there is no "printer IP address" listed with which to type into my browser to get to the printer home page.  Where on this network configuration page are we supposed to find the printer IP address ??

Where do you select the option "reset to factory defaults"?

i have the same problem as you.  Looks like HP never answered the problem

HP, please respond to this question.  This question isn't being answered and I have the same problem.  I just received an email from HP to be civil.  But HP wouldn't answer my question.  I find this type of reation from HP to be unacceptable.  I need product support here.

Please tell us how to find the printer IP address.  It's not listed in the network configuration report

Hi @rickholl ,

If there is no IP address, and BulyBoy's steps did not work, then the only option left would be to contact HP directly. You can utilize this website to learn how to contact HP appropriately, based on your region: Contact HP Worldwide.

This solution worked!  I had the exact same problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus after changing my router name. I am also the only person who has ever owned/administrated this printer so it's especially frustrating not to be able to UNLOCK it when it locks on its own.

After changing the keyboard language to AZERTY like BulyBoy said to do, I had to get all the way out of the settings menu and pressed the Wireless Icon on the digital display in order to be able to see everything UNLOCKED. Yea!

Thanks so much BulyBoy for taking the time to answer this question.

Anyone else with this problem, don't waste your time trying all of the other suggestions. THEY DON'T WORK TO FIX THIS UNLOCK PROBLEM ON THE 8600.

That did not work on my 8610, but thanks for contributing.

  1. Press the "Go Back"  (looks like an arrow) button 5 times in a row
  2. Press Support Menu
  3. Hit the > button to "Reset" Menu
  4. Hit the > button to Semi-Full Reset
