HOW CAN I OVERRIDE INK CARTRIDGE EXPIRATION IN HP all in one 8600

Hi @jfinny,

I may be able to provide you some more information about your 8600 printer model and it's ink delivery system.

Only some of HP's printer models support an override.

If your printer supports it, when you print you should be prompted to hit OK on the printer to continue. 

If you do not get the prompt to hit OK, your printer will treat the expired cartridge the same way as it does an empty or missing cartridge. It's designed to protect the printhead assembly inside the unit.

I did find this information in the HP Officejet Pro 8600 - User Guide, but I'm not sure if it will help at all;

The HP cartridges used with this printer contain a memory chip that assists in the operation of the printer. In addition, this memory chip collects a limited set of information about the usage of the printer, which might include the following: the date when the cartridge was first installed, the date when the cartridge was last used, the number of pages printed using the cartridge, the page coverage, the printing modes used, any printing errors that might have occurred, and the printer model. This information helps HP design future printers to meet our customers' printing needs.

To turn off usage information collection:
1. On the printer control panel, touch right arrow, and then touch Setup.
2. Select Preferences, and then select Cartridge Chip Information.
3. Touch OK to turn off usage information collection.

NOTE: If you turn off the memory chip's ability to collect the printer's usage information, you can still continue to use the cartridge in the HP printer.
