HP 575
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a building with an HP 575. Users insert their CAC which pulls up their H: drive as defined in Active Directory, and should be able to scan to a network folder. The user can login fine with their CAC + pin, the printer recognizes the address to their H: drive, but after scanning and processing a document it gives an error that says "failed: invalid folder destination server or path."

It can't be a networking issue as the printer recognizes the domain and certificates. The path displayed is 100% correct and I can map to it using another computer on the network. I tried sending a scanned file manually. In one case it actually worked (where the user's CAC didn't) but in several other cases I would receive an error saying "Error writing multi-page image file" which I can't figure out what it means by that.

Every other building's scanner works perfectly. This one is set up correctly but always fails in the last step. I tried a factory refresh and configured again but the same error results.

Hi

Did you ever find a reslution to this scan to file fault.

I am also having the same issues, error displayed on printer is the "error writing multi-page image file" user attempts to retrieve scanned document adobe states it is corrupt and cannot be repaired.

Again we have ironed out that this is not a networking issue and device is correctly configured.

Hi

I'm having the excat problem on several printers.  Both CM6040, CM3530, M880 and others.

When tried to make a scan to folder it fails every time:

Status: Failed
Invalid folder destination server or path

It is a standard folder that is identical for all printers, so the path is ok. I can copy/paste it to the Run-field and it jumps directly to the folder with no problems.

I have tried to find a pattern - but can find nothing. Same setup distributed from WJA as template ... same HW .. same Formatter board ... same FW ... same Netcard ... same FW on the netcard.... and printers are even located in the same IP-range on the same switch. The only difference is that is consequently fails on some of the printers ... and consequently works on some of the other printers.

Tried HW-reset .. tried DISK-init ... tried Partiel Clean ... Tried upgrade FW ... tried F.... everything.... nothing works.

What is wrong?

I'm in the same boat.  I had this configured correctly up until 2 weeks ago on older firmware but a power outage forced a printer reset and firmware upgrade.  Now I cannot get the 575 to see any other devices on the network - Windows PC with network share or Synology NAS drive configured as a Windows share.  Will not verify credentials that I know are right and gets stuck on the printer panel if I try to enter them there.  I just spent 2 hours in chat with HP and they had me do firmware update, factory reset, and partial clean.  They then wanted to completely format the drive on the printer and have me reinstall firmware from a thumb drive, which I don't think would do anything different than reapplying firmware or doing a partial clean would do.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, I'd appreciate it.  My guess is that something in the latest firmware is botched when it comes to scanning to folder.

Hi,

Actually HP has been onsite now and investigated the issue.  We did a lot of network sniffing with WireShark and dumped logs ets and "luckily" the MFP did the errors as expected. Afterwards the conclusion was that it is correct that there seems to be a problem - properly a FW-problem. The problem (Tracefiles, logs etc) has therefore been sent to HP lab for further investigation. It was sent end of March, so we are still waiting for an answer. I shall update the thread when I get an reply.

Kind regards

Mark

I had this issue start today on our M775. We have 2 Quick Sets scanning to the same folder. Verifying the access using the username and password failed when it shouldn't have. I checked using my credentials and that worked.

I reset the password for the printer username to the same password we were using and re-entered it into one of the Quick Sets. It verified successfully and scanned without error. I verified the user and pass on the other Quick Set and it successfully verified but still failed to scan. I re-entered the password, verified OK and it started scanning correctly again.
