I have an HP 7515.  When I click the HP printer icon on my desktop, I receive a blank task screen with the message "no tasks are available on this page."  When I purchased the printer in Fall 2012, it worked great.  Then several months ago I was unable to see the task screen where I can view ink cartridge levels, print, scan, etc.  I uninstalled the software that came with the printer, and downloaded the newest driver for the 7515, and the task screen re-appeared.  When I do a restart or shutdown, the same error message appears and no tasks are available once again.  I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system. I have the same HP 7515 printer software installed on a 2012 HP Desktop computer with Windows 8 64-bit and the HP printer icon displays the task page correctly.

Hello @redrubies , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see you are running into software issues.  I would like to assist.

I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

A little late to respond, but the solution you offered did not help.  I put the computer in clean boot mode, uninstalled the software, reinstalled the software, but this time, when clicking the HP icon on the desktop, it states no tasks are available, which means I can't see ink levels, change printing and scanning preferences, print and scan, etc.  Before, I had to restart the computer to get this error.  I can't seem to locate a software download from the HP site for the 7515 all-in-one printer. I thought they may have updated the software by this time and worked out the bugs.
