Ok, this works!
It's apparent that the problem is when the printer goes into sleep mode, it "forgets" it's connection to your router. After following the instructions here and resetting the sleep time to 0, the problem is fixed. Thank you for posting this solution. Hopefully HP will update the firmware to correct this drowsiness problem with the 7520. In the meantime I just turn the printer off at night.

I've been dealing with this problem and HP Case Managers for 8 months now. Today the case manager had me go into a system menu to disable the sleep timeout. These are the steps we used.
On the left and right side of the display are a home (top left) and return (bottom left), cancel (bottom right, it is an X)buttons. You might need to use a flashlight to see them beause they probably aren't illuminated. Key in the sequence home, return, cancel, retrun. This should bring up the engineering menu. From this menu select Underware Menu. You will see a display similar to the arrows on a TV remote control (up, down, left, right arrows with an OK button in the middle).
Use the right arrow key and go to the system menu (the menu names are displayed in the upper left corner). Press OK
Use the left arrow key and go to system mode timeout. Press OK
Use the down arrow key to set the timeout to 0. Press OK.
Exit by pushing the cancel (the illuminated red x in the lower right corner) until you've returned to the home screen.
We completed this approx two hours ago and so far so good.
Good luck.

Tried disabling timeout by putting it to zero. Turned off sleep mode. Did not fix the problem for me. I believe this "fix" was mentioned much earlier in this thread. I have tried every solution suggested several times. None work. I went to a static IP address. it actually seemed to work for a couple hours then back to the same old problems. I have uninstalled the printer completely and installed the latest software. Then went through all the "fixes" again. Still does not work! I guess after going through all this 4 or 5 times I will give up.

I have a e6520 printer with the same issue. I've gotten email replies from HP, nothing works. Chatted with 2 reps, one could not resolve the issue, the other changed my settings remotely on my broadband connection. Nothing is working to keep me connected. I'm running win 7 64, have a Motorola NVG510 modem. Have the Care Pack for the printer & ask about replacing it, they don't reply to that question. What can i do?
Thanks,
Tom

Stumbled on the answer... or rather what is happening with the HP-7520.
I have an HP-7520 on a Netgear 7550 router/modem. When I switched to DSL from Cable I got the 7550 router. That's when things changed. Never had a problem before.
The 7520 printer could not keep a wifi connection. All other devices (14 in all) had no trouble at any time.
I did all the suggested "fixes" :
Plugged directly into wall socket
Static IP set
UPnP disabled
Sleep timer set to 0 or (disabled)
Auto Off disabled
Moved to Channel 11
Physically moved printer closer to wifi
ALL TO NO AVAIL !!!!
Finally, I discovered "Group Key Update Interval" a part of the WPA2 security protocol. This was default set to 3600 seconds... and, by golly that was the exact period of time between loss of connection. One hour.
DING DING DING
So, just for giggles, I set it to disabled and the problem has completely gone away! I even put some of the other "Fixes" back to original settings and behold! Still worked with no loss of connection. Including waking up from a sleep timer setting of 5 minutes. It's been working now for two days with no wifi drops.
Understand that the Netgear 7550 router allows you to disable the Group Key Update Interval and others may not.
This is still an HP software problem regarding the WPA key change protocol, and my little discovery is not a fix. But we know that the printer is the problem and not all the other hoops we've been jumping through.
Disabling the Update Interval makes the system less secure to intrusion by allowing the bad guys more time to hack through the pass phrase, and this is why HP needs to fix the software.
In the meantime, my wifi appears to the outside world as fully WPA2 secure, and I would hope that would discourage the bad guys to move along to unsecured systems.
Now I can spend time on important things like BBQ.

The facgt is that HP really doens't care about issues on the 7520. ( I am on my third one under warranty replacment, and each one faills. )
1) they don't work with Apple very well. Apple now suggests a differnet brand to be used.
2) there is a plethora of problems, including the loss of wifi signal.
3) ther HP website doesn't even respond to try and help.
4) there tephone execs are very nice, but admit there is no cure for this poor machine

Sorry for the delay, on the Netgear 7550 "Wireless Settings" menu, under the "Security Settings" at the bottom uncheck the "Group Key Update Interval" . Once again, this makes your security a bit less strong, but so far it has worked for me on the 7750. Hope your unit's menu is somewhat similar.

I've checked the IP address on the printer from the display as 192.168.1.3
I've tried to ping 192.168.1.3 from my WiFi laptop and got no reply. Obviously putting the IP address in a browser didn't work either.
I've reset the printer and router many times.
I've pinged my Net Gear router (192.168.1.1) and got into it via that IP address in my browser.
I've asked the printer to do an update and it was rejected.
Is there another way to get this accomplished? Seems that the WiFi access is totally dead. Is there a way to test that?
Note: We've had little problems with the printer since it was new, about 10 months ago and we've not moved it and signal strengh is good.
