Hie Jamieson,

HP Scan worked again after a reboot, even before running HP Print and Scan Doctor, Windows updates or Flash updates, and it still works. Should it break later, I will try to remember what application I have just run that may cause this, and I will write it here.

The "HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Series" program does not start after running P&S Doctor, Windows and Flash updates, either. Maybe a bad Windows update causes the problem, and may it be fixed later???

I used "HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Series" for such things as cartridge alignment and cleaning, and I see I can do it in the Print and Scan Doctor, too, so it is a help to me, but it may not help users who want to use other functions of "HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Series" and have the same problem.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, it is not virtual.

I have VirtualBox installed, but there is no virtual Windows inside it (the virtual 32bit Win7 mentioned on 11-17-2014 has been deleted). I have a virtual Linux (Fedora 20, 32bit), which can print and scan without problems, using the HPLIP package.
