Hello Andy21,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to scan multiple pages into a single file. What is your operating system on your computer? Windows. I would recommend performing these steps from the HP software because it has more options.
I would recommend following this HP document on How to Scan. Please choose your correct operating system. Click on "How to Scan Multiple pages into a single file". If you have a Windows computer: (Scanning additional pages is supported at 300 dpi or lower.)
- Click the Plus sign (
) on the left side of the window to scan additional pages. If you are not using an ADF, you will need to load the next page of the document onto the scanner glass to add each additional page.
- Click Save to capture the scanned file but leave HP Scan open.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

I am trying to scan multiple pages into a single document. But it seems that the software that comes with my printer does not support this.
When I locate my printer on the Control Panel and right click and select scan all I see is the image below:
There is no option to scan multiple pages and there is no option to save the result into a PDF document.
The article that you point to in the HP support talks about a software that I do not seem to have.
Any help?

Hi @pmatsinopoulos,
Based on the screenshot you posted, I suspect you can select PDF in the Format drop down. I understand you want to scan multiple pages to a single file, when you select PDF you will see the option below to select 'save pages as single file'.
If you can not find the optios to seelct PDF, please let me know what operating system, and version you have? Mac or Windows?

Hi,
I don't have the Plus sign ( ) on the left side of the window. Here's the snapshot of how I see it.
It did use to be there and I did use it before I upgraded to Windows 10. After the upgrade, I made sure I installed all the recent drivers but still the Plus sign is missing.
Please advise what I should do.
Thanks,
ElenaDi

Hi @ElenaDi,
I understand you do not have the options to scan additional pages after the first page completes. Are you selecting a DPI setting of 300 or below? Anything above 300 will prohibit the ability to add multiple pages, I believe this is because the file size would be too large.
- Open the HP Software and select Scan a Document or Photo.
- Select the PDF option.
- Make sure to check the box next to 'Show Scan Preview' and set the resolution as 300 DPI or below.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue or if you require further assistance. Thanks.

I cannot scan multiple pages into one .pdf running on a MacBook IOS10.xx. I have read every HP and Google post about being below 300 DPI, and there is no check box or + plus sign to scan multiple pages into one .pdf. I can manually do this with Image Capture, opening in Preview, then printing as Selected Items and as saving as a .pdf, but it creates huge .pdf files minimally 1MB per page. I am very familiar with how to do this in Windows with the + box, but on this Mac, scanning Multiple Pages never appears as an option. Please advise.
