Hello @rghollamby!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see you would like to print wirelessly to your Deskjet 2547 with out a router. I should be able to help in regard to that. That type of connection is called a wireless direct connection. That works by turning on the WiFi direct feature in the printer. Once the printer is emitting a wireless signal you can then connect your Mac to the printers signal.
To enable WiFi direct on your printer and connect your Mac to it:
1. Press the WiFi Direct button
2. On the Mac press the WiFi icon at the top right area of the screen
3. The mac should display available networks
4. Select the HP Deskjet 2540 series
5. the computer should connect
To add the printer run the HP software using the CD. The HP software should see the printer now that the Mac is connected to its WiFi signal. When connecting to the printer WiFi direct you will not be able to access the internet wirelessly because the Macs currently connected to the printer WiFi signal and that doesn't have internet access.

Thanks for the response.
I managed all that part.
However, when I started the printer and switched on the WiFi Direct it did not print out the configuration page with the password (probably because I hadn't yet loaded paper).
My specific question was "How do I retrieve the password" (i.e. Force the printer to reprint the use printer without router page again).
In the interim, by pressing combinations of buttons, and printer other information I finally determined that holding down the WiFi Direct button for some 10 seconds worked.
Best regards
Russell Hollamby
