My HP Deskjet has suddenly stopped working. It has flashing resume and power lights. The power light is green thus it can open. The ink lights are a solid orange and not flashing. I have read through the previous forums and the troubleshooting page. 2/3 of the forums I have read have professionals simply post the toubleshooting link. Please go in further depth. I have had this printer for about 5 years so the warranty is gone.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Deskjet 460 printer. I understand that the power light and resume light is blinking and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
- Remove the USB device or hub.
- Clear the paper jam.
- Clear the paper jam from the output slot.
- Clear the paper jam from the front of the printer.
- Make sure the carriage can move freely.
- Print a self-test report.
- Perform a power reset.
Click here and follow the steps mentioned the 9th link in the document.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

Thank you for your reply, I have tried the steps you have given to me. The printer was unable to move the carriages, but I am able to move them manually. On top of that, I do not believe there is a paper jam. Because of this, the self-test report was not printed. The ink carriages are inserted correctly and I have tried replacing them, so the ink is not an issue.

Thank you for your suggestion @Jeet_singh
Instead of paying to fix this printer which is most likely damaged beyond repair, can you recommend to me a similar printer to the HP Deskjet 480? I am looking for a printer that is:
- Cheap (-$100)
- Small
- Can easily replace ink cartriges
- Long life and good quality
- Uses both Black and Colored Ink
- Has 1 Year Warrenty
- Is not wireless

You can even call on the phone number mentioned on the home page to place order.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

I have researched the link you have sent me and am interested in the HP DeskJet 1112 Printer. However, for the price of $30, I am concerned about the quality. Even ink cartridges are more expensive. Do you know why the printer is this inexpensive?
