Has anybody experienced this error code 0xc19a0042 in the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525? I can not figure it out what it means. My printer inks are ok and the diagnosis said the printer head is in good health but the printer posted the following message "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to get this message, contact HP"

Who can help HP or the Techy community?

Thanks

Hey @irojah,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're getting the error "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to get this message, contact HP" followed by a 0xc19a0042 error on the front panel of your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this error state.

Now, the error code itself indicates that the print system within your printer is experiencing a failure. This failure is likely due to the Printhead system within your printer, even though it shows as in 'good health'. The Printhead is the part that the cartridges fit into. It controls 'reading' the cartridges and putting ink on the page. If the Printhead is failing then the print system within your printer is failing. Should this be the case a whole unit replacement would be required as the Printhead is a non-replaceable part in this model of printer.

With that being said, there is a troubleshooting step that I would like you to attempt to resolve this issue. Can I please have you click here to access the appropriate support document. Once the document opens please click the dropdown for 'Any Other Error Code'. Next, complete the Reset under Solution one. Should the error persist once the printer comes back ON after the Reset, a replacement printer will be needed.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck! 🙂
