Where would you suggest I go to purchase the cable you described?  I can't find anything via online search and HP phone rep told me today that they no longer make the cable.

I purchased from AliExpress.

Here is the model:

Free shipping 5 pcs 50 PIN 100MM Length 0.5mm Pitch FFC TTL Ribbon Flat Cable Reverse Direction for FFC Cable

Now my printer works just like its first day 🙂

Thanks for the quick response but website says item is no longer available.  Must've sold all their inventory to HP Envy owners.  🙂

Searched on ebay for "50 PIN 100MM Length 0.5mm Pitch FFC TTL Ribbon Flat Cable"

Be sure to use reverse direction cable. As I see, this is not. You can bend one side, for sure. (It worked for me, but I changed with reverse direction one later.)

Yep, thanks. Is 100mm long enough? I have not removed original cable from printer but it sure looks longer than 100mm.
HP Recommended
100mm is exactly OK, longer than original one.

Ok.  Fyi I have sent out a few emails to cable vendors to see if they have the correct cable.  Thanks for your help.

How do you get to the flat cale connection on the front panel end? I can't find a way to disassemble the panel.

HP Recommended

The panel is gummed. First remove the 4 screws located bottom of the panel. Then, use "phone disassembly tool" like thing to open it from the corners.
