The solution is in my previous answers. You just need to replace a flat cable between the printer body and the front panel.

I've just got this problem today - printer is 26 months old so outside John lewis 2 year guarantee.

Has anyone a link to buy this cable from UK seller?  

I think I might have to try it.

Why do you need a UK link when you can by 5 cables for ￡0.83

The shipment is done within 2 days and I got them in 7 days.

I'm happy I got this site on this forum as I ordered the wrong one in Germany via eBay (not a reverse direction cable)

Thanks Patbis. Guess I was concerned I'd be waiting for a month and it needs fixing immediately but your experience is great to hear, thank you. I'll order it and fingers crossed be printing again soon.

I have the same problem and I tested the ribbon cable and about 6 of the tracks at one end are open circuit.

Any advice as to where to buy the 50 pin 25.4mm, 85mm long cable?
