Hello,

I have reinstalled the printer drivers.  I have cleaned the printer heads.  Both ink cartridges are full.  However, every time I try to print something from the internet, the preview comes up in black and white.  When I export the image to a pdf in the program, Preview, the printout comes out in Black and White even though the image is color.

I am at my wits end with this.  I have even tried different browsers.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Jeff

Apps directly from the printer work fine.  It's currently printing coupons in color but it won't print from my computer in color.  I'm using a Mac and there are no black and white setting checked either.

Hi Jeff, so with printing coupons the color is fine? Sounds like it's something to do with the print settings, is it possible for you to take a screenshot and post it here? Maybe some of the Mac folks can shed some light....

Jeff,
I am having the same problem. Did you find a solution? and, what was it?

When I try to print this screen, it immediately turns to black and white.  However, another computer in the house has no trouble at all.  I may have to try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers again.screen shot1.png

Nothing yet.  I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers tomorrow.  Another computer in the house printed today in color with no issue.

Was this problem ever fixed? I am having the same problem on my HP Envy 5530 and haven't found a solution. I can't print in color either. When I go to print on my computer printing in color isn't even an option, it only lets me chose black and white. Color is not listed on the drop down menu when I go to print in both Microsoft Word and Excel. I'm using a Mac 10.9. I have downloaded a driver from HP in hopes to fix the problem but nothing. Can anyone help me solve my issue? Thank you to whoever knows the solution!

Hi @StudioLily , and welcome to the HP Forums.

I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.

I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps

After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Good luck and please let me know how it goes!

I had the same problem, and this advice helped me.

What I did:

  1. Followed the directions for Method one, reset the printing system (for Mac): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02259020
  2. Downloaded the latest drivers and installed: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-125221-4&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

Thanks for the help

Deleting the printer from my computer and reinstalling it worked.
