Need to reset password for wifi on HP Envy 5530

May i also know the Operating System you PC is working with.

printer is connected by cable to a modem with wifi

operating system is Windows vista

printer is connected directly to the computer with a cable.

printer has wifi capabilities, tried them but didn't work well.

I guess you are trying to reset the wireless network password, if so, then you may have to contact your internet service provider or go through the manuals that came with the router / modem.

The HP Envy 5530 is connected to the computer by cable. The password has nothing to do with the router. It is for connecting my iphone to the printer by wifi. The password is only for the printer is different than the one for the router.

Hello,

On the home screen of the printer, on the top row, locate for Wrench icon, and then touch the icon ( wireless direct ) that is right to it.
Printer would display Wireless Direct Menu.
Touch on "Display Password" to obtain the password.

there is no "wireless direct" option. I have:

wireless off

wireless

wireless setup wizard

Wi-Fi protected setup

view wireless details

print reports

advanced settingsrestore network defaults

fixed it by pushing wps button on router/modem and restore network defaults on printer.

i don't know my wifi password. how do i get around this
