HP Envy 5540
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every time I try to print with my laptop, it keeps saying my printer is offline. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, looked for updates, turned both my laptop and the printer off and waited a while before turning back on.

I'm not sure what else to do! I've searched forums and have noticed that this is a running issue with the Envy printers... which is too bad.

Please help!!

Hi @Optic_Nervous,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you are having issues with the printer going offline. I would be happy to help you.

In some network environments, disabling SNMP has been shown to fix printer offline problems. If the printer is networked please try the following:

Search Windows for devices, and then select Devices and Printers in the list of results.
Right-click the name of your printer, and then select Printer Properties.
Click the Ports tab.
Select the TCP/IP port being used, and then click Configure Port.
Remove the checkmark from SNMP Status Enabled, and then click OK.
Try printing again.
If the problem persists, repeat these steps and re-enable SNMP.

If you are still having issues, try the steps in this document: Printer is Offline .

How is the printer connected?

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help, please click the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up" buttons. Let me know how you make out. Cheers!

After clicking on the Ports tab as instructed the TCP/IP port option is not there. The one that is already ticked is the following: TH62K2S0DV0671. And that one cannot be reconfigured. Help please!
