Hi guys,

I've had a HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw for 12months now and it has worked great over my wireless network. I recently upgraded from router from a 5 year old single band router to a late model dualband wireless N router.

Since i did this my HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw was unable to reconnect to my new network.

I have uninstalled the drivers and have tried reinstalling the drivers but each time (after I select Connect the Product/Coonect through wireless network, have tried both Yes retrieve the wirelss settings on my computer and No I will enter the wirelss settings manually) but no matter which I select the printer is installed successfully but then gets stuck at 15% and says cannont communicate with the product.

I have disabled my firewall during the installation and have only used the USB cable when the installation has asked me to do so.

The printer is visible in control panel but each time I do a test print or send something to the printer in the sys tray the print job is shown but nothing ever happens.

The installation will work fine if I install it via the directly connect to the computer using USB option.

If I do a test print fromt he printer itself by going into the network setting, network test it prints a page that says:
Wireless On Pass
Wirelss Working Pass
Network Name SSID Found Fail
Security Fail

Your HP printer cannot find your wirelss router. The WPA authentification method on your HP has changed fromt he default setting.

Is there anyway I can edit the SSID network name and password without having to do this install process?

This is really frustrating. Just spent 3 hours with HP support which got me know where (they were reading the script the supplied me) and then when I rebooted and went to go back to online chat support the website tells me their support is only available during business hours!

Any help would be great

Reset the printer back to factory defaults.  On the router, disable ALL wireless security temporarily.  Now try to connect your printer to your unsecured SSID.  If successful and verified, go back and add WPA2-AES on the router with your SSID and password and try to connect again.

Hi Sabertooth thanks for the response, ok heres what I have tried.

1. I reset the printer to factory defaults fromt he control panel on the front of the printer
2. I disabled secuiry on my router
3. I disabled my firewall
4. I tried installing the drivers again but unfortunatley I get the exact same behaviour as menitioned above (It gets stuck at 15% and says unable to communicate to product).

Do you have any other ideas I can try?

I noticed that the option WPS is disabled on my router, and I noticed there is a setting on the printer for WPS.

I don't really know anything about WPS, worth a try?

Any help would be great

WPS should be disabled as it is a security risk for your router.  Follow your manual to connect manually, or what HP calls Traditional Wireless connection.   Must get connected to the router before the software will work.

sabretooth I tried installing the HP Device Toolbox software to see if it gives me any more options I can configure easily but unfortunatley it installed fine but crashes as soon as I installed it, actually its running when the PC first starts up and crashes straight away.

Also I tried entering the IP address into the printer manually but it wont let me entere the correct IP address I am ust trying to enter a simple address like
192.168.1.254

Any ideas idea?

OK time to back up totally.   I need to make sure you are following the instructions in the user guide to install this printer.  Please start from scratch by uninstalling all software from your computer and outline every step to make sure it is correct.

You have to use the USB cable to set up the wireless connection.

Go here for the User Guide and all installation info.  Get your drivers and troubleshooting info here too.

The reason we have to start over is that you started the software installation when you changed your router.  You don't have to do this, but now we do.

Sabertooth after installing the new router and having issues one of the first things i did was uninstall all of the HP software and drivers (from control panel etc) and try ot reinstall.

Yes I am folloiwng the instruction manul too, I will restart yet again and uninstall everything again.

Sabertooth the solution to my issue was to delete the Windows / Temp directory and then try the installation again.

All up and working thanks again for looking at my issue.

I am having the same problem as the original poster.  I tried deleting my windows\temp folder but I still can't get the computer to communicate with the printer.

I have uninstalled everything numerous times, have followed the instructions, etc. but nothing works.  It's like my printer just turned into a big brick.

The wireless light on the printer keeps flashing if that helps with a diagnosis.  Someone please help because I'm close to throwing this stupid printer down the stairs.
