Hi @LBS226,

As @Jeet_singh is out of office for the day, I am assisting you here.

Spectacular understanding and commendable description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. Smiley Happy  You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. Smiley Happy Great troubleshooting also.

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

 Did you perform any troubleshooting?

  • Did you try clearing any paper jams?
  • Did you perform a hard reset and bypass power strips?

Based on your query, you have contacted HP phone support also. The printer rollers are not replaced separately. That the entire printer is exchanged or upgraded based on its age and warranty as per HP policy. Now I understand precisely where you come from and how you feel about it. However, that’s the only option available at this time.

HP sells thousands of these printers, in fact by the millions. So for all customers with printer hardware issues, unless the entire printer is replaced or serviced and parts are not sent out separately.

Ink for paper jam issues: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02206103 please follow these steps if it has not been done already.

I request you to contact HP phone support again to get the printer replaced if the issue persists.

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Smiley Happy  Please reach out for any issues and I'll always be there to assist you always. Smiley Happy

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. Smiley Happy

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. Smiley Happy

I got this printer new in 2012 so it is out of warranty, so they are not going to do anything with it. The problem is when the feed roller gets slick it just does not pick up like it should, so it needs replaced.

The service manual tells how to get the feed roller in position to remove it. The manual is wrong, it does not work to get it into position. If they have sold so many of these printers I do not understand why they never corrected the manual and they have not been confronted with this problem and there is no mention of this anywhere on the internet. There is even a video on youtube showing how it does not work. I just can not comprehend any company building something and not having any expertise in the maintenance of it.

After some trial and error I finally figured out what the service manual was saying.

The procedure on a HP Laserjet CM1415fnw to get the pickup roller into the correct position to remove it. This procedure is just not explicit in the service manual.

1. Touch the setup button.

 2. Touch the center of the left edge of the screen and immediately remove your finger.

 3. Touch the bottom right corner of the screen and immediately remove your finger.

 4. When the Home screen appears touch the setup button.

 5. Touch the Pick 2ndary Service

 6. Scroll down to and touch Pick roller.

 7. Click OK.

Hi LBS226

The procedure you describe works, super 🙂

But can you then actually replace the pickup roller, and did it finally solve the problem?

Thank you

Works great. You do have to do the pdrocedure pretty fast, too slow and it doesn't work. Seems to only work with my thumbs, guess the finger is too small for some reason. It is very tricky.

Thank you for the great help.

I'll find a new pickup roller and try to replace it soon.
