Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi, I get this message every time I try to print: HP Laserjet 1200 PCL 5 is in an error state.

Can anyone help me?

Is the printer connected via usb and did you install the usb driver that is necessary. See the link below:

Also if you press the button on the printer does it print a demo or config page. If not then you probably have a hardware issue with the printer. Report back the light pattern on the printer on the left side as there are 3 lights so tell us which ones are on and if they are blinking or solid.
