Hi rocketx2,

Print a Configuration Report from the printer control panel

  1. If the product Home screen is not active, touch anywhere on the screen to activate it.
  2. On the product control panel, press the Setup icon ( ).
  3. Touch Reports , and then touch Configuration Report to print the report.

I printed that report and the demo page as well.  It looks like the blue is printing too high??  But remember I'm not an expert.  Is there a way to realign the colors??

Hi rocketx2,

Update the printer firmware, and let me know if you still have the issue?

I have checked and complete all above suggestions and am still having this problem.

It almost acts as if the paper is being fed in crooked, but this is not the case.

I have checked paper feed and guides as well as the rollers at the back for debris.

Black works fine, but anything color (graphics & text) is just out of alignment.

I lost count as to the times I have tried color calibration.

I did find out that when I use the Print Qualilty Page, the problem becomes very clear.

The orange stripe at the top & the red stripe at the bottom of this page,

both of these two colors are sloping down from left to right.

The color stripes of green, blue and black go straight across the paper.

However there is an even print-over between the black & blue.

There is nothing out of alignment between the blue & green stripes though.

I hope these details help to find a solution!

Hi pierogi,

Are you using a new OEM cartridges or Rermanufactured?

What colors seem to be having the issue?

Have you tried new toners for the colors that are blurry?

The two worst colors are red & yellow, and blue a little.

Yellow toner is HP and red is a remanufactured cartridge.

I have been using these cartridges for a while and this problem is only recent.

I did not try replacing any toners and was hoping for another solution besides spending $100's on just a hunch.

The colors are not blurry, but only seem that way due to the misalignment issue and color calibration.

Hi pierogi,

Unfortunatly since you are using a remanufactured cartridge in the printer this could be what is keeping the printer from doing the calibration successfully. At this point I would suggest that you have all OEM HP cartridges installed in the printer before you attempt to recalibrate the printer. Let me know what you find out?
