Can I please have the secret instructions too. M177FW.

Are you able to provide older firmware versions for downgrade? I'm still stunned HP have got away with destroying everyone's printers and are washing their hands of it, but I've yet to read of a single resolution of this problem.

To save people waiting, the instructions are just the press the right arrow and cancel buttons whilst turning on. For me (like everyone else) this has no effect at all. Pushing the bottom left of the screen brings up the “permanent storage init” message, but that never goes.

I’m quite invested in this printer, and hate throwing away stuff. A new formatter can be bought for £35,  which will hopefully solve it.

@Sandytech20 - can you provide backdated firmware please?

Hi! I am in the same situation.
The recomendation, support give me, doesnt help.
1. I tried press the right arrow and cancel buttons , no reaction.
2. I tried press left bottom position on the black screen and saw "Permanent storage init". But no more action, the sign just lighting without any effect.

P.S. It's started after I have installed new driver(HP_M177_FW_Update_20180208) on my printer.
