Hi to all.

I just want to ask if someone here knows how to reset the subjected printer to its Factory Default Setting. The reason is that someone changed its admin password so we're not able to manage the machine well.

I already tried to reset using Administrator, followed by General Setting, followed by Restore Factory Setting but I think it doesnt reset all from factory default coz the IP address we set is still there and we cannot log in using admin/admin (username/password)

Thanks in advance guys for your help.

What you need is a Cold Reset to clear the memory of the printer and restore it to the actual Factory Defaults.  Its a little unclear why they lable the resets they way that they do but the Restore Defaults function does not actualy clear the memory, it only does a partial reset of the easily configurable settings.

Some folks mention a technique here that may help:

/t5/Printers-LaserJet/M775-99-09-67-error/td-p/6247179#.VEE-ndJOWjI

Otherwise here are the steps copied from the Service Manual for the HP LaserJet Pro Enterprise 700 Color MFP M775

Cold reset using the Preboot menu

1. Turn the product on.

2. The HP logo displays on the product control panel. When an underscore displays below the HP

logo, touch the logo to open the Preboot menu.

3. Use the down arrow button to highlight Administrator, and then touch the OK button.

4. Use the down arrow button to highlight Startup Options item, and then touch the OK button.

5. Use the down arrow button to highlight the Cold Reset item, and then touch the OK button.

6. Touch the Home button to highlight Continue, and then touch the OK button.

NOTE: The product will initialize.

Hi,

You can change the security settings easily from administration tab->security setings->change the option to YES.That's it.
