Bought this printer yesterday.  Follwed instructions re inserting the cartridges.  Installed the software.  Keeps saying install cartridges and I can't get the ink cartridges out to re-insert as the holding unit for the cartridges is too far over to the right.  I#m at a loss as to what to do know.  I've turned it off and back on but the problem persists.

Thanks

Hi Sheilaoc,

I understand the printer is rejecting the cartridges and the carriage is stuck on the right hand side. I would like to help you resolve this so you can start enjoying your new printer.

I first suggest you open the ink access door, leave the printer on, and unplug the power cable. WIll the power cable disconnected, you can now move the carriage to the center and remove the cartridges. Once the cartridges are removed, close the access door, and plug the printer back in. The printer will now boot up again and should prompt you to install the cartridges. If this does not resolve the issue, use the following document for additional solutions. A 'Cartridge Problem,' 'Ink Cartridge Failure,' or 'Incompatible Ink Cartridges' Error Message Displ....

On the off chance the issue persists, call HP for your warranty options.  The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US , or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your help.  The printer was faulty and was returned.  The replacement came the following day.  Problem sorted.

The printer was faulty so it was returned. The replacement printer works a treat. Thank you for your help. I will use the forum again, it's a useful tool.
