HP OfficeJet Pro 8600

Hi,

My OfficeJet Pro 8600 All-in-One display screen is suddenly all white.  I can print from my laptops/pc, but cannot see the icons for copy, fax, scan, etc.

How can I fix this?

I would appreciate any help/advice you can give me.

Thanks,

Cinsde

Hi,

I would like to share with you this work-around.

1) Unplug the power cord.

2) Wait for appro. 30 second

3) Plug in the power cord

4) Power on the printer

5) Wait for the printer to enter ready mode (after all the servicing of the printer is complete)

6) Download the latest Firmware from HP.com, depending on your printer model:

7) This should works!

Hi cinsde,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the control panel. Go to Blank Control Panel Display for detailed troubleshooting steps.

Let me know if that helps.

Nope.  Non of the steps worked.  I guess it's time for a new one even though this is only 3 years old...

Thank you for your response!

Hi Cinsde,

From you reply above I can see the power cycle does not work for your unit. And yes the officeject pro 8600 is an old product by HP. But there is still a chance to make it back alive again.

If the fucntion still works while the front panel UI is white all the time, then its because of the control panel is not connected stably. I think you already know the control panel is adjustable and you can adjust the angle of the control panel. actually just behind the control panel there is something that you can un-install and you'll find the flat cable. you can re-insert it and check if it works.

When you un-install the control panel I think you need some tools like screwdriver.

Hope this can help you out. Please click on the THUMBS UP+ to give me a kudos if you think this helps:)

Uninstalled the UI white cable, then plugged it back in and now there is no function at all. I will have to give it another go and if it still doesn't work then on to a new one.

Thank you for your response.
