I have printed several documents to my Officejet 4500, and every document was missing every letter "l", lowercase "L". I am printing to it wirelessly, from my Windows 7 64-bit computer. I would like help in fixing this severe issue.

Hey there @kjordan29!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to provide some assistance regarding the Officejet 4500 not printing a lower case "L" from your Windows 7 computer. I suggest printing a status report from the front panel of the printer. That status report has writing on it and the letter "L" should be printed on the status report. If the status report prints with the letter"L" then the hardware in the printer is OK and your likely looking at a software issue.
To print a status report:
- Press the down arrow on the printer to highlight tools
- Press OK on tools
- Use the down arrow to highlight print status report
- Press OK on print status report
If the software is an issue try uninstalling and re-installing the HP Software

My solution was really simple - I just put in a new black print cartridge and the PDF document I was having trouble with printed fine. As it happened my cartridge was a genuine HP one (I've had trouble with OEM cartridges in the past) but I'm not saying you should only use HP replacements and this is not a plug for HP.
Too often the so called techies on some forums jump in and blame drivers and Windows and software etc. etc. but 9 times out of 10 the problem is down to the mechanical aspects of the printer and that includes the cartridge and it's associated electrical connection ( I was a customer engineer in IBM for 22 years and fixed thousands of printers and numerous other devices and always tried the simple fixes first) that it makes when you insert it in the printer. So have a go at changing the cartridge first before jumping in the deep end.
