Thank you for your suggestion.  Although my printer is out of warranty,HP has told me this is a recurring  problem and I will be able to trade up.

I took the printer back to the store where I bought it, and even though the guarantee had expired, they gave me a full refund! Thanks to all who helped with my initial question!

HP Officejet 6700 Premium: The printhead has dissapeared suddenly...all solving possibilities tried and out of warranty.

Who is going to help? Where about can I find this printhead and is it to be fixed?

I have the exact same problem, it would seem it is a common fault with this model. i have tried the suggested action with no luck and my printer is out of warranty by 3 months. My guess is all the other printers belonging to the other people who have posted are also out of warranty. Please tell me you have not installed a kill timer in your printers like Epson does as i would be very dissapointed if that were the case as that is why i switched to HP. i hope you can help with this problem and yes you may contact me privately through my Email.

The all-in-1 I have I got 4 monhs ago and is under warranty, applied the troubleshooting steps as you did without success.  Tech support agent said I needed to replace the "setup cartridges" it came with (which I installed as part of the instructions) with another full set to the tune of some US$70.00 .  This one replaced an OfficeJet 4620 that failed after 1 year of operation.  I was surprised that I have to purchase cartridges with a new printer purchase, did not have to do that with previous printer/PSC purchases.

Hello.

I only have my printer for two months (6700 of exebition so no warranty)

The solution you've mentioned regarding Soaking the printheads does not apply to this model or any model where the print heads cannot be taken out easily.

In this case,  the best solution would be?

it would be a big shame for me and HP as a brand if there is nothing to do with a such a simple problem.

but if so, it is good to know to stay away from HP printers from now on.

I would apreciete your respond as our office is stuck for the time being.

Thank you.

Replaced setup cartridges with new HP cartridges, error message persists as previously described.
