My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, operating system is Windows 7 64-bit, was working fine and one day the control panel screen was blank - all white, no words or icons. Have tried everything I know. Anyone have this happen???

Same thing happened to my Officejet 8500a. Screen is white. I can press the screen and hear "beeps", but I have no idea what I am selecting.
HP printers used to be great, but now I am not so sure! Switched to an Epson!

Hi Jessica,
Welcome to the HP Consumer Printer Forums.
Although this may be a hardware issue, there are a couple things you can try first.
1. Unplug the power cable from the printer and the wall.
2. Wait 2 minutes.
3. Plug the printer back in directly to a wall outlet (no surge protectors or power strips)
Let me know if this helps or not.

Hi kicmiller,
Since the above mentions steps did not resolve the issue, it does appear to be a hardware issue, I recommend getting the printer serviced.
First, you will want to determine if your product is in warranty or out of warranty. If you need help determining your product’s warranty status, go to HP’s Warranty Check Tool .
- If your product is in warranty , contact HP.
- If your product is out of warranty , click here to view additional printer support options starting as low as $20.

I had the same problem. I called HP support 800-474-6836 and told them my printer was 6 months old and the screen went gray.
After doing some trouble shooting steps, the tech transfered me to a supervisor who said they will send out a re-ferb printer. I suggest you try the same.

I had the same problem. I phoned the HP help-site. After 15 minutes of being on hold and having my contacts taken (and politely declining being put on the HP marketing list), I was told that my HP printer was 3 days out of warrenty; had a hardware failure; and that HP would do NOTHING. I was summarily dismissed.
I would recommend NOT buying this model, but looking at competitive products.
